Where do I start? If someone came to you and asked how do you cook crab, I’m sure you’d look at them like a cow chewing grass. Stupid in other words. I know when I first started out I didn’t have a clue but you’d be surprised what a little research can do.
The main problem with crab is it’s hard to find fresh crab meat so you’ll generally find crab frozen. The best part about it is it’s not as expensive as it used to be. Crab is very rare at home so it’s not surprising most people don’t know what to do with it. If you were asked to make a prawn cocktail I’m sure you wouldn’t even have to think about it. I personally love prawn cocktail. It’s one of my favourite dishes and always thought there wouldn’t be a dish to tackle it. Crab comes close because it’s a refreshing difference.
Why not give crab a shot? It’s a lot easier than you think because some crab comes frozen but pre-cooked. It’s as easier as slapping it in the microwave or dressing it up and serving. It know that doesn’t make it sound very nice but the same can be said for prawns. They’re frozen. You just defrost them and dress them and then serve.
Another thing to note about crab is that’s its extremely healthy. It’s high in protein and low in fat so you can enjoy yourself and be healthy at the same time. Health is a major concern nowadays so it makes sense to start eating a balanced diet. Crab is one form of seafood considered the healthiest and you have easy access to it. There’s no excuse to give it a go and if you’re a fan of seafood then you know what I’m talking about.
If you like prawns but are afraid to venture out a bit then give crab a go. You may be surprised to see how much you actually like it. I eat a lot of seafood and try to cook as much as I can at home. I started out not really knowing what to do but the more you read on it the easier it gets and fish in general doesn’t take too long to cook. Overcooking fish is easy to do so be careful.
